Foundation Law is rated by two independent bodies that measure different things. Client reviews are collected by Avvo. Peer evaluations are collected by Martindale-Hubbell. Both are current as of August 2026.

Client ratings

Avvo, an independent attorney directory, lists Wesley J. Cherry with an Avvo Rating of 9.0 out of 10 and a client review average of 4.9 out of 5.0 across 69 reviews. Avvo also named him a recipient of its Clients Choice Award in 2023, an award based on the volume and rating of client reviews received during that year.

Peer ratings

Martindale-Hubbell issued an AV Preeminent peer review rating of 5.0 out of 5.0 in 2017. Peer review ratings work differently from client reviews. They reflect confidential evaluations submitted by other attorneys and by members of the judiciary, assessing legal ability and ethical standards. A lawyer cannot buy the rating and cannot see who submitted the evaluations. It measures professional reputation among people who have opposed or observed the lawyer in practice, which is information a client has no other way to obtain.

Client testimonials

Individual client testimonials are being collected and confirmed for publication. Foundation Law does not publish a review until the client has approved its use, so this section will fill with verified quotes rather than paraphrase. That is slower than writing something generic, and it is the only version worth reading.

What reviews can and cannot tell you

Reviews describe how a client experienced working with a lawyer. They are not a prediction. Every case turns on its own facts, its own court, and its own record, and prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome in your matter. Oklahoma rules of professional conduct prohibit an attorney from suggesting otherwise, and any lawyer implying that a past result forecasts yours is telling you something about themselves.

The useful question when reading a review is not whether the client won. It is whether the attorney returned calls, explained the process in language the client understood, prepared thoroughly, and was honest when the news was bad. Those are the things a client is actually positioned to judge, and they are also the things that correlate with competent representation.

Where to check for yourself

Both ratings are published by the organizations that issued them rather than by this firm, so they can be verified independently. Attorney licensing status and any public disciplinary history in Oklahoma can be confirmed through the Oklahoma Bar Association, which is worth doing for any lawyer you are considering hiring, including this one.

How to evaluate any attorney, including this one

Ratings are a starting point rather than an answer. Before hiring anyone, confirm they are licensed and in good standing, ask directly how many matters like yours they have handled and in which counties, ask who will actually appear at your hearings, and ask how fees are structured and what is not included. Ask what the realistic range of outcomes is, and be wary of anyone who answers that question with confidence at a first meeting.

Foundation Law is a solo practice, which answers the second question simply: the attorney you meet is the attorney who appears. That is a genuine tradeoff rather than a pure advantage. A solo practice means direct access and continuity, and it also means the firm takes on fewer matters at once.
